Dinokonda
Description: Ah, this is more like it, after an afternoon fighting with Carrara it's nice to come back to Bryce and be able to bang out a quick little render in half an hour. I've borrowed somewhat the style of Richter - I hope he doesn't mind... mainly just wanting to point out that this fine model and a starter 3D bundle pack (normally $230) are presently on offer for FREE at DAZ under their latest promotions. Thanks to Horo for the hdr! The ground plane is just a darker varient of the Frosted Mirror and the spheres have an impossible material applied, which is both transparent and reflective to a degree not found in the real word. I made the model of the Dinokonda reflective to give it a metalic look - otherwise it is as it arrived in a stock pose.

Beautiful. Looks almost monochrome so I wonder which HDRI you used - the ThreadSpace by the look of the reflection on the spheres but I miss the red. The ground looks a triffle too grainy for my taste, nevertheless, a fiver is due.

nice! Is that the free dragon? it looks cool like one of those Chinese figure things.
I don't think through that in a render engine it would make a difference how reflective and transp an object is, they would both just cancel each other out.

Thanks. Yes, Horo, ThreadSpace. Gat, ah, yes, you might think that they would cancel each other out, but curiously, they don't - their effects seem additive - at least in Bryce.

Nice! I downloaded that model too. Maybe someday I'll actually use it.

Nice indeed, David. The Dinokonda is an impressive model. It looks like a varnished ivory to me. My kind of style? Well I'm glad you're saying that (smiling as wide as a Dinokonda), but as I see you're doing great too! Interesting interaction between the ball's materials and the hdr. A bit of the frosted gainyness is also present within the reflection, which is nice. I'm not quite sure if you rendered it at this rpp intentionally. I, just like Horo, find the ground a bit too harsh. Anyway, the idea of placing the Dinokonda is nice and the hdr fits perfectly.

I miss Bryce

I quit moddelling in bryce many a few years ago. Now i am looking back, and I know that I missed something when I quit. This is a fantastic picture. I allways liked your art, David. You inspired me to start moddelling those years back, though I got cought up with other things.
Damn, I should start over with the moddelling.
