Hurt
Description: There was a little program, named TopMod, which was firstly showed by LitoNico here on bryce5.com These curved shapes were made by using this software. The Yin-Yan(g) model is the same one as in "Black & White" image. Nothing too complex as far as geometry is concerned. My attention was directed mainly on texturing. You can see the Uffizi probe in use with low values for intensity, linear falloff and 32 qual. There's a minor postwork that includes "Hurt" signature, a white frame and clean (with no dof) re-rend over the Superbucky region, because the dof applied blurred the facets too much.

The lighting is excellent. The model is interesting. The blood... looks convincingly like a liquid. However, the thing which most impresses me is the ground plane material with the odd bits of grit/gravel scattered over it. That looks fantastic. If the render were just comprised of the groundplane and nothing more, I'd still have been tempted to give it 5/5!

Let me first complement you on making the most realistic ground plane ever. The models I have seen in your renders so far are very interesting and the alll have nice materials on them too, the blood was a very nice touch. keep up the good work!

Richter, there is no one else like you in this entire world. This image is exceptional and I cannot think of a single thing you might do differently. Models are great, texturing astounding, lighting perfect. You are working at a level right now that keeps me hungry for what you will create next. Keep it coming!

Amazingly amazing. All's been said. I like the reflection from the Uffizi probe on the bucky, particularly on the underside. Five-five from us, too. Ah - if this were only larger.

WOW! A bleeding Yin Yang. I'm going to have to meditate on that one. ;-)

The HDRI makes this one look really awesome. I have to give it 5/5.

Thank you! Here are few additional notes. The texture for the ground plane was a slightly reworked version of one of all the textures I used for the Gothica image. The almost pure black ball had a frosted mirror for a start but after a bit of tweaking and playing with specularity, metalicity, bump and reflection, something like a brushed billiard ball was the result. The blood here was most tricky to get right. You might find this one very extraordinary, but the blood is a highly modified Polished Iron (by David Brinnen; mat. can be found in the exchange). The three values for various combinations were again metalicity, and acceptable low levels of transparency and reflection.

Impressive texture work. The brickwork is especially good, there seems to be no repetition and the added gravel gives the image a high degree of realism. Of course, lighting completes the image. Great work.

to Bruce

Thank you very much, I didn't expect that a fellow artist would come by and say a few words for an older entry (mine for ex.). You know, most of them don't think the author notices when new opinions on their entries are posted. Of course I hope I pay enough attention ;)

Have a nice render :) and keep up the good work!
