Teddy in Carrara 6 pro
Description: How could I resist this subject? Well, clearly I could not. The teddy was moddled in wings3D - not a very detailed model as these things go, but then again, I knew I was going to hide it in fur. The fur is dark at the base and bright at the tip. There seems to be a lot of control available - which is good - but I don't yet know how to use 1/4 of the options - less good. Anyhow, it's fun just to throw fur on thigns and see what happens. I used GI and the other option I can never recall what it is called that simulates light bounced around from within the enviroment and about 20,000 photons - took about 45 minutes to render.

nice! it looks really good, there some inconsistencies in the fur that I particularly like that makes this look more realistic.

This dynamic hair feature is the only reason I purchased Carrara 6! It is an amazing feature.

Now David, how about a re-make of the tennisball on the bed of stones? In Carrara you can produce a fuzz with the dynamc hair, and perhaps use displacement or e even real stones for the peble bed.

Anyhow, nice work!

Yeah, this one looks very convincing, particularly so because it is not perfect. Some toddler had played with it for quite some time. Nice reflection in the eyes.

So I was right, there are a lot of options that give you the desired control over how the fur will look like. Combining this with the GI applied the Teddy could be a joy within the eyes of every little girl. Nice work. And you're right. It isn't necessary to have a ton of detail if you're to put fur/hair later there. Just why am I feeling that the area around the eyes is not fully covered with fur? Maybe that's the way it is supposed to be. You're the one to tell. Nice work once again.

Very good! I'll give you a 5. I wish you had used wooden blocks with letters on them. I think it would have given more to your scene. The bear looks so huggable : ) Great job!
