Description: These are the same models of the ha'tak that I uploaded before. This took a really long time to render about 10 hours. Comments welcome.

Let's see...I think I can see volumetrics at work. This would explain the long render time. Sub-space is not easy to represent, as we have noi experience to compare it with. In this case I would say you did a great job, I knew exactly what I was looking at. Try adding some variation to the colors of the cloud material and see what happens, though not too colorful, I like the blue mostly as is.

In the way of lighting I think you have done all that can be done without drawing some definet conclusions about how light behaves in subspace. There seems to be a "sun" direction, but I do not see an energetic source for the light so I assume there is a star just outside this wormhole.

Don't sweat a 10 hour render. You will find that render times can get much higher. the longest render time I have ever heard of a person letting live until completion was 28 days. Can you imagine? Hang in there!

It looks like you paused the render and then restarted it and bryce has messed up your scene, it does that sometimes.

Yes, I see what gat means. This scene has a vortex feel to it and I like what I see. I wonder whether you could not come up with a similar effect without resorting to volumetrics. The black at the end of the vortex calls for something. Another nebula, stars, a star system ...

The effect is good but there are one or two "oddities" in the pattern that look more like texturing issues than sub space anomolies to me. Horo I think is right to suggest looking for another way to create the same effect, I echo that view. And Gat has I suspect correctly diagnosed the soure of the odd "gritty" noise in the image. My longest render time was http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=601&mode=search at 500 hours. Not quite 28 days but long enough for a power cut to interupt proceedings!

Cool wormhole concept. I know the seams in the material are a pain in the butt. I got really frustrated trying to do a convincting Jump Point. The only way to conceal the seam was setting a viewing angle that would hide it.
