Description: Again an experiment with photographs as materials - others than used for Stone Pit, and not yet mapped the way richter suggested; I'll try that, thanks for the tip. The air-vehicles are from DAZ3D. Lit by the visible sun and to brighten up the shadows, the MablethorpeSkyFakeProbe HDRI I made as experiment from a photograph David sent me: X=180?, Quality=16, Intensity and Effect each 9. Renders in an afternoon.

It looks good in every way, but it has no depth, could you mix the texture up with some procedurals?

The water looks amazingly amazing! The rocks however look a little flat, not because of their material I don't think but due largely because of the position of the light, if some light from the sun could be sceen finding it's way into the gorge and bouncing off one side of the rock wall outlining the geometry of the rock face, then this would add to the drama and give a greater sense of depth. Materials themselves look very good. Try maybe the dungeondimension probe and see if one of the bright lights can be teezed into the gap?

The water is your best shot here. Very much like the one in some terragen renders. At first sight the rocks look good, but seconds after, I'm noticing that there's still lack of bump. No big pain though. The night mood you've set up compensates for that. The sky is a true bryce sky. It draws back the impression. We all used to see that same pattern. Maybe you should complete the work done so far by adding a sky photo. Is that the sun there? It's a bit blurry but the effect is really nice. Keep it up, Horo!

I have to echo about the lack of bump om the photo material. I don't know that much about PS yet. Is there any way of creating a bump channel from the photo?

The water looks a bit grainy in the shaded areas.

I really like the models! What are they? Betelgeusian Skimmers? ;-)

Spektry,

Bump maps are easily made from photos. When you are access the material lab and enter the photo section, you have to amke sure that both fields have the image in them. In field B it will make the image a grayscale. no worries. Once both fields have information it will make a bump.

Ah. Thank you. I haven't played around with the picture material option too much. Thanks for the tip. :-)
