Waiting for a ride final version
Description: This is the version 2 of Waiting for a ride.
I took the helpful advice you guys gave when the first version was posted.
Also did some post work in psp-x.
I thought about adding a lug wrench or an oil can or something.
The door was modeled using Wings.

I did save the door knob texture I made if anyone wants it, let me know in the comments and I will upload it.

Great scene. The only thing I will say is that the ambient channel is causing the wheels to glow far too much, making them appear somewhat flat. The problem is more obvious in the shaded regions. Careful of the ambient channel. I would say your lighting is good enough that you don't need any ambient materials at all. Nice work over-all. Play around with creating bump maps from photographs. It's a bit tricky but worth it, that is if you do not already know how which i feel you should by now.

The modeling and textures here are very good but you have a slight ambience problem. A good way to see it is by comparing the door knob with the rest of the image. Do you see the way it stands out? The door knob has a higher contrast than the rest of the picture. You need to reduce the ambience on the rest of the picture to increase the contrast and equalize it with the door knob.

Those rims do look pretty lonely, don't they? ;-)

I agree with everything above, there also seems to be some AA issue.

Lighting and materials look good, except for the above mentioned ambient channel. The doorknob has a very good material finish which outshines the rest, but somehow it seems a little overly large for the door, or perhaps the door is a little too small for the sceene, or something anyway is not quite to scale I feel. If you look around in the objects that came with your copy of bryce you should be able to find some legesy garage props from bryce 4 - I think it was... anyway, they would be suitable company for your alloys.

The resolution of the door texture is good. But I still can't see the bump of the materials in scene. Lighting is good as stated above. The mean ambient channel spoils a bit the overall impression, but I'm sure you'll menage, of course. Just remember to make changes carefully one after another, not globaly to the scene, or there's a chance that something else might go wrong or amiss and you'll be noticing this right after the final render. If you think you can give the Final Ride a break, do it, make something else and then return to this project after a couple of days with refreshed enthusiasm. It helps sometimes :)

What could I add? Perhaps set the skydome in the Sky lab to black and the ambience as well. If the ambience is set to black, the ambience channel on the materials have no effect anymore. But heed richter's advice - be careful.
