Description: I changed the materials. And again this is a 12 hour render (I have a very slow machine). Still some noise, but on average anything larger then 1200 pixles needs to be rendered for 20 hours to get rid of the noise.

So, for those who don't know: Made in blender, exported to Sketch Up and textured there, then exported to Indigo renderer.

Sounds like a lot of work for this result. Lighting is flat. The noisy one was better. This doesn't convince me to use another 3D tool than Bryce.

There is no lighting other then the light from the sun and the sky through the window and the door. Plus, the direction/setup of light here is exactly the same Horo as the one in the other pic. This is a realistic simulation of light, I did not select and AA settings, no AO settings, nada, even if it may appear to be flat it is still exactly what it should be and not all photos are perfect. And, it wasn't really difficult, I just select a few materials and hit the render button. This result is much better then what I tried to get with Carrara in a few hours. Carrara's render engine as good as it is just can't deal with low indirect sources of light, it can try and fake it with photons and radiosity, but it will never be an actual simulation of light like in Indigo, or Maxwell (http://www.maxwellrender.com/). Maxwell of course is much better at this, but it also costs a lot of money. Through, the same results can be at chived in indigo.

ps: I forgot to mention that white circle is a mess up in the geometry, there is hole there.

Seriously through just try indigo, download the latest build (should be .9 test4) and render some of the sample scenes. A few might not work due to the new changes, but there should be plenty to test.

The only light in the scene is that from the sun? Not bad. Are there two windows? There must be. It definetly looks smoother. The 12 hour render seems long, but then again a 12 hour render of a bryce scene seems fast to me, as my average is about 2 days. I look forward to seeing more.

The interesting thing about Indigo (as far as I know) is that no matter how complex and how many reflections are in the scene, it will render in the same amount of time as a simple scene with the same dimensions. I could be wrong through I never tested this theory.
