Description: Same thing, only this time I added another terrain. I also added a fog 3D cloud, and DOF. As well as a distant light set to very low up above, because the cloud was black with just Sky Dome on and no lights. I also changes to another tree and added more angle rotations, as well as size. All of those trees just like in the last one are actually only one tree and instances of it. :)

pick which you like best and why plz

Hmm, I like the first one best, because the tops of this terrain don't quite look right. But I also like this one because those pine trees didn't quite fit.

I like this one much more, partly for the improved vegetation as icecreamman noted. Again missing at least a little bit of snow on the trees. The cloud added adds a great deal to the sense of scale and the atmosphere in general, bravo on that choice! This image makes me want to purchase Carrara.

I really like the effect of the mist and the way it fits into the saddle of the terrain. I really don't like the DOF here - makes me feel like my eyes are refusing to focus. The trees are good, but a little too green for my tastes. Still, I can't be too critical, since I haven't even worked out how to use the surface replicator yet!

The manual actually doesn't cover it right.

Here is what you got to do(or how I do it):

Click the surface replicator and then place it anywhere in the scene, it will not be visible. Now, drag any object you want replicated into the replicator using the tree view on the right, so that replicator is the parent of object. Then click the replicator and go to edit mode, there you can play with the tabs and stuff. Like replicating using texture, placing object along normals, etc..

One thing I am not sure of is that if I was to place more then one object in the replicator would it replicate two times as many objects then before, or the same amount as specified in the options.

I prefer the last one because there is less wrong than here. As has been observed, the terrain at right doesn't look very plausible to me. The colour of the trees is wrong and at such a forrest, we would also expect to find some brown branches. The lower lands at left, if that is mist, it is too dark with this bright sky, which I like. Finally, the mist or cloud bank in the saddle is too blue for this sky and it looks as some smoke from a fire. Again, I have qualms about the colour of the ground. It appears as if the trees are stuck in rock which has a layer of snow on it. Nice as a picture but not natural looking.
