The pine trees look somehow "cut" at the tips here in front. The terrain has a very convincing material (shader) applied. Surface replicator does quite a job actually. Do you know if it supports moving and/or deforming charaters/objects? I'm just curious.
I know all your most of your attention went to the Replicator, but if you change the sky with something similar to the bryce slab clouds (something volumetric parhaps) and make the green color of the trees less saturated, we will have a perfect photorealistic rendering.

I never tried, but I think you might be able to replicate an animated object. But it will have to stay in one place.
The trees came with carrara, I was kind off disappointed by them, I didn't know they were going to turn out like that. And the clouds are tougher to control then in bryce, so I am still learning that. I haven't even tried the 4D clouds.

Very good scene generally. I agree that the vegetation saturation levels are a touch too high for ultimate realism. I miss some snow on the trees since there is a decent amount on the ground. The sky for me is the only real "weakness" if one might call it that. Seems flat, quite like that of bryce to be honest. Does the sky dome in Carrara cast shadows? In bryce skydome does not cast shadows at all and that is the problem with it, otherwise skydome in bryce wouldn't be so bad.

Love the composition, and I really like the over-all lighting.

The complexity is pretty staggering, along with the all over lighting, this would be a nightmare to produce and render in Bryce. I think the points raised above with reguard to the sky and the realism of the vegitation are valid. Ground shader looks very nice, could do with snow on the trees perhaps? I've not got very far on with the manual yet, work has been keeping me occupied in other ways. Well done.

thanks for your comments, I tried to get that cloudy sky affect, but it didn't work out. And I had such high hopes for the realistic sky lab :(

All's been said. It appears that there are trees not firmly set into the ground. If the ground were more brownish, we wouldn't miss the snow on the pines. I like the lower part of the sky.
