Spark plugs in Carrara 5 pro
Description: Lit with one of the supplied lightprobes and using the sparkplug model downloaded from this site which was made in wing3D. I spent some time on the tiled material (sorry shader) and tweaked slightly with the presets selected for the plug components. The lighting worked from the start and the render time was impressively swift - only a few minutes. In comparison to bryce, I think it is about on a par in every respect except for the render time which it would win hands down.

Only comment I have is that compared to the sparkplug, I think each individual tile should be much bigger. Three sparkplugs would probably only fill one or two tiles, unless the tile is supposed to be really small. Otherwise looks good.

The material editor in Carrara is very flexible but takes time to learn. The tile material needs work. Also, I think you should have added a spot or a directional light at about 15 degree angle from the ground facing away from the camera, with low brightness, so that you could see the bumps a bit more.

The render certainly looks excellent and quite obviously you make progesss in using Carrera.

Looks great. A bit overly blue for my tastes, but it is still realistic. Shadows may be a touch too soft, but the light is coming in evenly from all directions so maybe it's fine. I just feel that based upon the brightness of the reflection that there was a bright spot somewhere in the hdri, which would cause a bit more light from one side, hardening the shadows just a bit. Certainly a great render.

Indeed a great render. I'm beginning to wonder how will look the GT500 or '71 muscle car rendered within Carrara. The tiles without the bump triggering Gat is talking about look more like a stange rubbery carpet. So the light it seems that needs attention I guess. But what am I talking about, switching to a new 3d software pack is quite painful considering the many new options available. Keep on going!

Thanks. I did enjoy making the "rubber tiles" even if I could not get the shader editor to do what I wanted it to exactly. Bryce is more intuitive piece of software than Carrara, but since for the time being I only have to play in Carrara I am free to noodle along at my own pace. I won't be offering to do any commissions until I know what I'm doing - which I anticipate is at the least a year away.

Very realistic! I'm so impressed with the sparkplugs. I'm with Rashadcarter1 about the blue, but other than that it is truely exceptional. Great job David!
