Twisted shrine revisited
Description: Still lit by Horo, moon_bluegrey.hdr but the five floating lights have been replaced by two red floating lights (with auras) inside the shrine and one floating around in the trees. There are 50 trees and the fade mirror was used to produce the rest. Gone for "gloomy" sparse bryce trees with a few angular brances each.

Absolutely beautiful. Texture the forest floor or add a bump map. Also a little mist would look good in the background. Peter Sharpe has a great tutorial at his website, petersharpe.com. Although I'm guessing you probably don't need a tutorial =). 5/5!

nice, looks better, but why not use the disadvantage of mirrors and put a few lights outside the structure so that the whole forest is sort off full of this floating glowing things, and as if they all are moving toward this structure.

by the way, check out this news it might be interesting to some of you:

I like your first one better. Im sorry. But when I see the two images together the first one draws me in. I gave you a 5/5 on the other one. I think the red color takes away from realism. I still think your tops though!

Gat, I just read your article. Maybe the reason Blender is the number one based on number of installed copies is because it's FREE! Of course more people are going to install something free more than something that costs $500+. That doesn't necessarily make Blender the best modelling program, although it has incredible capabilities, I find myself a little too confused with the interface.

The first one looked more finished than this one, even though this one has a lot of trees. For me, the colour does not fit here. It needs something like "Fire in the woods" or "Will o' the wisp MKI" to make it complete. And it lost its creepyness.

The picture color is great, the lights are in the perfect position and looks ghostly, nice work I like it.

An interesting selection of responses I must say. I'm never sure about creepyness in pictures, I think a lot of that feeling is brought to the picture by the viewer, it being a more "refined" kind of sensation there has to be a certain ammount of sophistication within the audiance to experiance it. But I take Horo's point in the wider sense. I do like to make several variants of any scene I produce, although frequently I do that before I post the chosen variation in the gallery. Here, I've been encouraged to tinker with the scene and it is entertaining to be experiment with the ideas of others for a change instead of going down the same well trodden paths of my own imagination.
