Ditto 'Click here to download plug-in' -- 'unknown plug-in video/x-msvideo'. Probably wrong MIME type...

It's there but it takes a while to download before it plays. The file is only around 8 meg but just now it took around 5 minutes for me and I'm using a moderately fast connection. Like the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for." This is a free hosting service and it seems their bandwidth is awefully unreliable. Unfortunately I'm unable to pay for a reliable site or host it myself at this time.

Try giving it time to download. Meanwhile I'll see if I can find a free hosting service with better performance. If you guys have any suggestions please let me know.

My most sincere apologies to you all. I didn't expect this much trouble. On top of that I'm fighting a nasty cold this weekend and I feel miserable. :-(

It WORKS!

WOW!.. Now that is impressive. Best bryce animation I've seen. Hands down! The thing is, the player didn't indicate it was doing anything. But after reading your reply, I thought, well... I'll just leave it for half an hour minutes and see what happens. When I went back to it, about an hour later, it looked almost exactly the same except that the play arrow was black instead of grey. And then when I pressed it... after a short delay... it all started happening.

Really cool, I think that David is right, this is the best bryce animation ever. I just wish it was higher quality so that I can really enjoy it.

:-)

Thank you!!!!!!

I know what you're saying, David. I did a simple blank embedded web page and there's no indication that's it's pulling in the file. I'm so glad you guys finally got to see it!

It's not even finished, at only 15 fps and already I'm getting rave reviews!! YAAAAAAHOOOOO!!!!! LOL You guys are going to flip when I'm finally done. ;-)

I'm still planing some changes and I've found a free hosting service with - Hang on to your hats guys! - 10 GIGABYTES of free storage!

Now if you guys are willing to wait for a long download I can upload a cleaner copy for you soon.
:-)

It figures

There's always a catch. Sure they'll give you 10 gigabytes for free but you can't upload files larger than 5 megabytes.

Did you ever feel like every direction you turn to someone has built a brick wall in your way? AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGG!!!!

Sorry. Just feeling a tad frustrated. hehe

Three steps forwards two steps back. I know exactly how that feels. It does not help when you have a cold either! Sorry.

I think you know these infinitesimal inconveniences are never going to even slow me down. I'm a man obsessed with a goal, a driven individual who will let NOTHING halt his progress, a veritable juggernaut on a irrevocable course toward??.WOW! This stuff sounds GOOD! Wait a minute. I have to write this all down so I don?t forget.

There. Now where was I? Oh yeah. Dave, I?m hooked. I have a new version rendering now. Call it v1.4. If you like the last one this is going to knock you right out of your socks. I?ve added rotation and movement to the camera and slowed the rotation of the lights to 1/2 speed. I?m rendering it at the same setting as the last one so it should be finished within an hour. I?m dying to see this one as I?m sure you are too! ;-)

Now, while I'm waiting.......OH CRAP! Now where'd that pesky little Bambleweeny 57 Submeson Brain get to this time? I tell you ever since I gave him legs he's constantly wandering off. Barnie! I name'd him Barnie, by the way. Barnie! You get your little heat sink back here this nanosecond! Do you hear me?!.......

New file available guys. I pushed it up to 100% quality so it's now 4 times larger (~34 meg) but it only took 2.5 minutes to transfer and start playing for me tonight. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long. The playback looks much better this way so it's definitely worth the wait.

It's looking better all the time. I'm thinking of adding a transparency shift to the target sphere. This will probably increase the render time. At the present setting it's taking about 1.5 hours for the full 901 frames.

Once again, I want to thank you guys for your compliments and your patience. The fact that you guys are so pleased with the first small test render means so much to me that I can?t put it in words. ?Thanks? seems woefully insufficient but it?s all I can say. :-)

I?m going to try and take tomorrow off so I can rest and hopefully finish fighting off this cold. I say ?try? because it?s hard for me to stay away from this project. I think I?m getting more enjoyment out of this than anything I?ve done in the past. :-)

Good night everyone.

I'm completely mad. That's what it is.

LOL Like I said, it's hard for me to stay away from this monster I've created. I'm like Dr. Frankentstien. "IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE!!!!!"

I just started a new render and this one is going to be a real eye popper. I'm not going to say a thing. I'm just going to post it tomorrow and let you guys check it out and comment. I'm getting to bed. Talk to you tomorrow.

New File added on new server. I'll just say this one took quite a bit of tweaking to make it work like it does. I hope you all enjoy it. :-)

Now for a day off....I hope! LOL

Took about half an hour to load the 1.5 version on my machine, second attempt. Well worth the wait. These animations are really excellent - I wish I could think of a way for you to reach a wider audiance with them.

Thanks David!

Half an hour? YIKES! Perhaps it's the time of day. I tested the new file before 7:00AM this morning and it only took 3 minutes 15 seconds. 34 meg is a big file but half an hour is pretty poor download speed. :-(

This complicates my plans. I'm rendering superfine antialiased full frame rate (30fps) copies as a treat for you and a few others here who have expressed thier opinion that these are really good animations. Now that I found a server with 5 gig free and no file size limit, at least as far as I can tell, I want to upload better copies for you guys. I'd hate to think it will take an hour each for the files to transfer. :-(

An hour is not bad. I can just let the computer get on with downloading it. I've spent a week downloading stuff before now, we've only just got access to broadband here so I'm still used to slow data transfer rates.

Ok. I believe that if I give you a link to the file itself it will open up in your default media player and you can save it to your drive. That way you won't have to download it again to view it.
