Kaleidoscopica
Description: Have you ever created an image that left you completely stunned? This one did it to me.

I love playing with reflections. I often experiment with different mirror configurations, lighting, and ray depth settings. I've achieved some interesting patterns, not all of then were worth posting, in my opinion. When this one finished rendering, in about 47 minutes, I was.......my eyes were frozen to it for quite some time. It's the most stunningly beautiful image I've produced to date. A bit of contrast tweaking in PS made it even more so.

Please share your opinions on this one.

Beautiful. The geometry and the light work very well together. I think the image works really well because the center of the image is the brightest and even lowers in brightness toward the edges. Nice.

Thanks! I have to say I'm really pleased with this series. I love abstract art and my previous experimentation with reflection never yeilded such complex and beautifully symmetrical results.

I look at these images and finally believe, I mean truly believe, that I'm actually an artist.

It feels really good! :-)

Pleasing colours. Rashad is right: the bright centre and the darker perimeter makes this very striking. It does have a kaleidiscopic value to it - but weren't they with mirrors 120? apart?

Actually I think it was 60?. I remember the old kaleidoscope created an image with 5 reflections of the original pattern. This image is generated with s mirrored sphere within a hollow mirrored pyramid. The illumination is done with Haze. The ray depth on this one is set at 10.
