Color Ball Vortex
Description:	Here's a nice colorful one. It contains 500 spheres with a total of 482560 polygons. It only took about 3 and a half hours to render but waiting for the scene to update after every change once all the spheres were set up was quite irritating. LOL

For some reason it makes me think of my chidhood. I imagine it took alot of patience to navigate the scene. How was the scene lit?

It was actually pretty simple to do this. I started with 2 balls grouped, created 5 copies rotated at 30 degree increments around the Y axis and set each to a different color glass. Then I took each group and did a multi-replicate to create the spirals. The lighting is simply an all white universe around the construct.

I guess my inner child - may he never die - felt the need for a colorful image. When set as wallpaper it creates a cheerful mood but can also be a bit distracting. Looking at it now I feel I should have used yellow instead of white on the 6th group.

Thank you for the compliment. It does tend to pull you in and that is the effect I was going for. Like I said it, can be a bit distracting for the same reason.

Like being inside a giant colourful bouncy castle made of balls and shaped like a tube. Simple concept. Good quality render. Pleasing result. Can't ask for more really!
