Final Destination
Description: i wanted to create an underwater scene actually, but it did not work out too well with the caustic lights and the fog.. so i removed these 2 elements and added some trees.. later, i wanted the image to look as if its a perspective from someone, say a hiker, who is trekking and he has reached this high point from where he can see the forest below and his destination is those mountains in the background.. comments are most welcome =)

canopy

Nice canopy feel. I can tell that the scene was born underwater because the haze settings seem more appropriate for a dense medium like water than a light medium like air. Perhaps the haze field could be pulled back a good bit, and of a much less saturated color and lighter tone.

The effects of time on mountains and hills is a key factor. Perhaps the terrain is a bit spiky, a bit "new." Over time those spikes would soften and round out or even erode ever so slightly. I feel like we may be at the mouth of a sleeping volcano. I get this feeling from the mid level flat topped terrain with that awesome gap in the middle. I would reconsider the spiky mountain.

I see no ambient which is great, but at least one dim non shadow casting secondary light would lift the shadows and make your atmosphere feel heavier without the actual weight of a 40 or 50 percent haze setting.

If you are willing please try downloading one of the leaf templates, perhaps number one, and apply it directly to the trees, though you will ned to fix the colors. This transparency will bring the foliage to life and may even remove the need to add any secondary light, as the sunlight itself will now penetrate and illuminte the underbrush.

Rashad has said most of the things I would like to say. The canopy works well and I like the thick blue haze, reminds me of the backgrounds found in Deep Within A Forest.

Not much to add. Generally, this scene has quite some potential, it doesn't seem to be finished to me. In a way, it might still go to a SiFi underwater scene.
