The sky seems to have something good going on in ther. It's something subtle but very plausible.

sky..

basically.. the terrain and the thin line of fog was done in max.. but the sky is a photograph i took from my still cam and placed it as a background image..

This "Dessert" has a very bryce-ish appearance. Not knowing what your goal was, I can only say that this is a good start for creating a vast Mars-like landscape.
