Description: The Nybras are from DAZ3D and have a modified Haematite (by Richter) material applied. The ground plane is transparent and reflecting, underneath a sphere with a modified Azathot (by David) volume material. The backdrop is a selfmade HDRI I subjected to a self made convolving diagonal Sobel filter. It is the only light source. Renders in 6 minutes which gave me as much surprise as the chaps having fun in my living at night. Well, I told them to keep noise a bit low. Cropping was the only post work done, apart from the (c).

If this image is rendered in bryce 6.1, then the ibl is very much improved regarding the quality of the backdrop. So are your skills in creating hdri probes, Horo. The Azathoth beneath looks like a strange carpet and the colors you've chosen for it blend very well with the backdrop environment. I'm not sure if I have to look for any shadows from the nybras here. The transparency and the reflectivity obscure them perhaps. Good work!

Interesting and cunning effect to turn your living room into the bowels of an alien space craft. The monsters look to be hovering, perhaps because of the lack of shadows, a little more reflection might fix that? A bold experiment, reminds me almost of the solaristion effect that could be created in the dark room. Impressive and bizzare. Well done.

Thanks for your kind comments. Yes, richter, IBL in 6.1 is way better. Shadows are a bit obscured by that kind if floor I used, I suspect. The right foot of the nybras at far right casts a visible shadow on the floor. I have yet to come to terms with how to arrange objects when the HDRI is the main environment.
