Every Day is the Same
Description: A self indulgent piece certainly. The tower was a free DAZ model, the chairs were DAZ furniture, as was the table, and the clock and the bottle came with Bryce4 - I think.

Lighting partly by the sun, partly by 14 point light sources and fractionally by IBL using Horo's bluegrey moon image.

The scene was rendered inside a mirrored box to give the illusion of more towers and the altitude filtering was used to fade the tops of the mirror in order to give the impression the towers were getting lost in the rather foggy upper atomosphere.

My idea, apart from the concept behind the image itself (which I leave for you to ponder for yourselves) was to utilise the full range of lighting options and atmosphereic effects. Render time 1 hour 42 minutes. The IBL quality was set very low.

Magic!

Wow! Beautiful scene. Amazingly textured, modeled, and illumunated. You have created a powerful image. At first it appears to be complete desolation.
It looks like it could be a scene from an animated movie.
What impresses me the most here are your lighting and mirror working skills. Thank you for the detailed description of how you positioned and textured the mirrors to acheive these effects.

An apocalyptic picture, very effective. Looks also a bit like inside my skull - a lot of rubble and dark spots. Excellent light. I have one quibble, though: at the upper left hand side, it appears as if the mirror cube were visible, something that cannot be observed at right. Nevertheless, a very strong piece of work. I particularly like the interaction of the clouds with the towers in the centre.

I don't know whether you wanted to say something special with this picture or whether it is another of your cunning experiments. I just think the clock is wrongly set - 5 past 12 would be more like what I would have expected.

Difficult for me to judge mirror visibility, because I know where it is, I can see it quite clearly all the way around. Also, knowing there is only really one tower, does help destroy the illusion. On the subject front, I'd say you were pretty warm. You are inside the skull certainly, but I didn't think I was represeting your junk when drew it. And yes, if I understand your point about the clock, well, there is this to consider, 1) expediance... and 2) and 5 past 12 it is too late, therefore take a seat, nothing to be done about it now - might was well finish that bottle. At 5 to 12 there is still hope - maybe disaster can be averted by prompt action! At 12 midnight - it's pumpkin time... Paralisis in the face of overwhelming chaos. Everything stops.

Aha, now I understand the two seats, the bottle and the junk. Good point about the clock. So the bottle never empties. Suits me fine.

True, this scene has this apocaliptic feel to it. The browny materials and the misty air contribute to the impression a lot. I wouldn't like to be there, no matter in who's head/skull I'm supposed to be. Also all those spiky formations everywhere... I'm glad I'm not one of the people who have a needle phobia. As a cut from a horror movie David, very striking image. Lighting, as always, excellent.
