The Necklace
The Necklace

The Necklace
Description: A roughly cut piece of cloth and a necklace similar to those the tribal shamans are wearing. This whole picture is mainly a test of my new hdr files, also it's a first try with rendering cloth material (made in p-shop) and the sequental tribal-update of my logo :). The Necklace took 30 hours to render at Premuim DOF 16 rays/pixel. IBL was 5/70/21, the sunlight was disabled, but the sun/moon shadows were left on. Two versions of David's precious Polished Iron mat were applied on the "teeth" and on the holding part of the necklace. The beads - yes, Diamond material (I just love it for its refraction = 300pts.), only this time the transparency was lowered to 75pts. instead of 100. TIR was on, maximum TIR depth and ray depth = 12. Postwork almost none, just a few filaments where the cut was made. The hdr I've got from www.unparent.com , there are about 17 completely different probes with a very high quality. The name of the one I used here is "probe_mausoleumHall.hdr". Below is a geometry-shot from from the workflow. Feel free to comment.

P.S. The city-lights tutorial is ready (forgot to mention it when posted "Gothica")

very realistic

IBL works every time. I expecially love the way bumpmapping responds to the .hdr. I like the simplicity of the shot. Very realistic. Amazing. 5/5

Beautiful work! Another fiver for you. Thanks for the link to the light probes. There's only one that needs some pixel boost to be usable, the others do nicely as they are.

I really get the impression that the material underneath is soft fabric, that's excellent, as is the rest, 5.5.
