CoastLine (Dreamy Version)
Description: Of course I couldn't pass up a chance to upgrade to bryce 6, and after quite a while I finally made somthing with it. I was needing a new desktop background, so one night I thought this up. Postwork in photoshop CS2, added some shine and my name.

I like this one a lot. Grass and beach are nicely done. The only quibbles I have is with the colour of the sky. Less violett, more gray-blue would improve the overall impression of this beautiful picture.

nice!

I agree 100% with Horo. The sky is the only part that's giving away the file's origin as a bryce scene. It is curious to me exactly what planet the programmer was on that thinks the sky ever turns that color purple. The default atmospheric settings will give you this odd purpleness when the sun is at certain angles. I long ago gave up on that mode and have always assigned sky colors myself. It's not as smooth as the default, but it is more accurate.
Also with clouds, the higher the cloud height the better the clouds themselves will look. Bryce clouds are notoriously 2d looking. Rather flat. But this can be remedied with perspective tricks. Bryce clouds were meant to be looked "up" at I have found. Perhaps one day you can test my theory but in my experience more realism and depth is displayed in the render when our viewing angle is more from below with a high cloud height than from across as with a low cloud height.
Love the soft shadows, love the water surface. Love the scene.

Great scene. My comments, well, much like those expressed above... Other than to suggest that you try the scene with a sunset sky. Using either a hdr or a few single point light sources to fill in some ambient on the sides of the rocks facing the camera but otherwise have the focal rock on the right hand side black against the setting sun.
