I have no idea how you did what you did here but I like the over-all impression. I do indeed feel as though this pedestal is very high. The sky is like nothing I have ever seen before. You said you were new to bryce, but you definetly have some experience if not with bryce then with some other form of art. The tree is also like nothing I've ever seen. The blurring effects in general are odd but also fitting. In total sum it is beautiful. A thought provoking image.

The broken dome here is the star of the show and works very well with DOF. I'd simiplify matters by getting rid of the tree which is overbalancing the compostion and then going to a less obtrusive base for the dome. The marble material is a little brash and "noisy" for the subtlies of the glass. If the tree is removed, the camera wants pivoting slighty to the left to centralise the weight of the objects in the scene - but not much.

Hmm...

rashsdcarter1- Thank you, the sky was easy - cant remember what preset i used, but i just adjusted the sun so the rainbow was right on the horision, and used a slightly tilted perfect mirror for a ground plane. - The tree is a standard treelab with davids rusted pitted iron mat on the trunck and for the leaves i used a fractal made with fractal explorer (http://www.eclectasy.com/Fractal-Explorer/index.html). Truth is I have played with Bryce more off than on, for about 2yrs. (spent the first 6 months without saving anything - no manual):( then a rather long time making sunsets ), I learned real early I cant even draw a succesful stick figgure by hand, but I carve (wood, bone, stone, door posts, furniture - to my wifes dismay nothing is safe) and now thanks to bryce, i can get these pictures out of my head! (ahh sweet release)

Thanks David, valuble comments:) allright as soon as time permits I'll inflict this pic on you again ;).
I still think it's a bit empty though and removing the tree will make it look lke a "sphere and plain" picture??

Those few adjustments mentioned, and this will become something outstanding. Great potential there.
