Now with Horo's full moon hdr
Description: There is definately a different quality if light provided by the IBL, something unbryce like and very three dimensional. this is not a strong sunlight example - the moon is involved but more directly than is normal. So don't think that it should look like a moonlit scene, because that was not the intention. The IBL was set 50,70,100. There was a marked, very marked inprovement of the definition within the shadow regions as the quality went up. Some shadow banding is still evident, but seems tollerable and the "cost" in time was about three and a half hours. Not too bad I think. The next step I will try is to combine the two lighting arrangements in one image and see what happens. I would like to do this in bryce, but I'm not ruling out postwork at this early stage.

Horo, I like this hdr, I'd like it better if it was not so yellow. And it is a really neat idea! And, critically, not too hungry in terms of memory usage. Thanks!

effect of ibl

What the ibl seems to do is to color saturate the images dynamically. The ibl is great also because it softens shadows. What the ibl cannot do however, is bounce light. In this case the secondaries are still necessary, as there should be some light on the bottom of the roof reflected up from the floor. Ibl alone is only part of the story.

Would you be willing to render one more but with a couple of secondaries to correct the shadows? the effect on render time should be minimal.

Looks as if a sandstorm was comming up. What colour would you prefer? More neutral - white grey? Here, I like the prevailing yellow. It appears as if it was yet calm but the storm is just round the corner.
