Sorry about the bad render, I sent the wrong JPEG.

I've noticed that the render hasn't finished. Otherwise very nice. I like the low, flat sky which seems to push down on the skeletons - not much headroom for the guards.

as seen through the eye...

The scene is well realized. I particularly enjoy the upside-down refraction of everything within the "eye." The skeletons are great models.

The only suggestion I might make is some variation on your theme. Right now each skeleton seems to be exactly like the other, too much straight duplication. The settings for position and size are all exactly the same. If the models can be rigged for posing to any degree, giving them individual poses would give these skeletons some individual "spirit" and "character," making them more scary if that's your goal. Maybe one skeleton could be looking back at us instead of the other direction, making us feel that they have noticed us viewing them in the underworld and they may turn on us any minute. Also the material used for the skeletons might be made less perfect and more of real bone, especially aged decomposed bone. The ground plane also wants to be something else. The transparency in the water is great, but it means the ground plane needs consideration.

Interesting choice for ambient expression. The ambient draws attention to itself just the way you wanted it to for the main skull and eye stand. I'm curious if you'd be willing to try lightening the shadows with ambient light sources instead of the ambient channel, or maybe both as you still want the main skull to "glow" more than the skeletons. Anyhow, solid execution of a very clear concept.

Reply to suggestions

I create these images very fast, in fact I have hundreds of them, it takes longer to render than to conceive an idea, spontaneity comes first.
All images I have submitted to Bryce5 are only concepts.

Bryce5 allows the opportunity to gauge my style acceptance and helps me move in specific directions.

Ultimately, I grade them to be developed into paintings.

I see.

I understand better now. Perhaps this is a test run.

Your ability to conceive of lots ideas quickly is a talent I am jealous of. Ideas are few and far in between for me as most of my scenes come about because of some technical experiment that gets out of hand and eventually turns into a scene.

To me this piece definetly seems worth while to develop into a painting. The suggestions I made are very few and could be implemented very quickly, as 95% of the work is already done. I know this was not the final render so I'm curious to see the final painting when you complete it.

Black Horizon!

Just like you in previous image, that black horizon is pretty creepy. My bazaar imagination can concoct such terrible things lurking unseen in that infinite darkness. GOOSEBUMPS!!!!! LOL
