lighting

Symbolism seems to be your middle name. This is definetly a category I would expect you to participate in judging from your previous works. Interesting use of threatening models or symbols in a more or less non threatening way.

The lighting is very goodm as it feels very realistic. It looks like a group of toys on a table, but real toys on a real table mind you. Softened shadows would make this a pretty convincing still life. Super cool "fade to black" effect.

Welcome back dali54. I've seen works by you that scared me more. Nevertheless, this is another artistic masterpiece of yours. The ?gods? whatching over their subjects on a chess board. It somehow reminds me of Discworld were the gods play and their figures are the peasants.

Thank You

Nice to be back Horo, thank you.

Rashadcarter1, thank you for your comment and
ability to pick up on my style.

I used the checkered pattern to suggest a game but not as a playing field.

rashadcarter1 is on the right track, happy hunting

Nice Gargoyle

That Gargoyle is really cool. I notice the poligonal look on some of the surfaces. I had a similar problem with the arm in my image. I exported it from Poser and that's the way it first looked. I was able to smooth out the polygons by loading into Carrara with smoothing and exporting it again. I don't know if you have another program you can do that with but I just wanted you to know there is a way to correct the problem.

polygons

Spectyr brings up a good point. 95 times out of 100 you want smoother models. Yet, it's funny because the coarseness of the polygons especially on the gargoyle seem to work for me in this scene. As I said above it feels kind of "still lifey," I just assumed it was a plastic toy for a young child. The coarseness seemed to me to be one of dali54's ways of taking the edge off of these threatening characters, making sure we know they are not real. I am curious though now that it has been mentioned, about smoother polygons. It probably would help level up the scene. Good eye Spektyr.

Polygons

These models are 3ds files which don't render out as smooth as obj files in Bryce.

I don't really care so much for digital correctness
as I do the theme coming across LOUD an CLEAR
As long as they project this, that's all I care about.
