Mind the Steps!
Description: The stairs are a Bryce preset. This is a philosophical picture. It shows that the way up is hard and bloody and you hit your head soon at the ceiling while the way down is bottomless, the fall even faster. In other words: it can always get worse.

Yes, it is philosophical...and so endless, even scary. With a few more tweaks of yours this image could win the deserved part#2 of a nightmare theme (part#1 for me would be "S?ulenhalle"). Interesting surface you've chosen for the water. And believe me, if I'm to fall from these steps, the water could be my only hope (not 100% btw). You could still improve it a bit, although I like the idea you put within.

I should like to see some variation in the state of the steps as they climb, maybe deteriorating as they go up? It's just a bit too "clean" for my liking. I think some detritus on the steps (bones perhaps) and maybe a hint of them leaning over at a dangerous angle could give this concept more of an edge.

You're right. This is far too clean and there a lot of things that come to mind to change. I did this out of that sort of boredom that hits me sometimes when I have a lot to do and don't know where I should start.
