I've been away a while pondering over cylindrical, rectlinear and equirectangular projections for use in cylindric, spherical and cubic panoramas. I have a tutorial up on my site (Raytracing > Panorama?) how you can create cylindrical and cubic panoramas in Bryce that can be viewed animated with QuickTime. The good news is that you can get everything needed for free. Better still, it is quite easy and straightforward.
