Colony Series - The Beginning
Description:	The first one of my Colony Series, named "The Beginning". I have intensions to make a few more renders to complete the sequence but I didn't planned yet how many. For this rendering I used some advices from David about the mirror surface, I also used his "fighting machine" model and the "rings of lights" tutorial. The "Carva" species are modified (and smoothed) version of my Robotic model. The "empty shells" are result of my latest modeling in Maya (still a bit incomplete though). All the inscriptions made with Flash MX.

Nice Evolva. Heh , the empty egg has alot of detail to it, I kind like to know what came out of it. Full marks. you used metaballs for the Incubus, right?

Very interesting work, a bit unsettling, though. Excellent use of labels. Surface and material on the artefacts are outstanding.

Thanks! FoxBoy, the two "Carva" aliens came out of those empty eggs, and Yes - the Incubus, the spoilt egg and the disintegrated ones are made from metaballs.

Thank you too, Horo. The material used is Haematite. I liked the soft reflections from the rings of lights on it, so I used it. I just didn't understand what do you mean by "unsettling".

With ?unsettling? I mean that I get an uneasy feeling, a bit like being afraid, of what I see in picture. Perhaps the wrong word.
