Overthere!
Description: Another example of David's Swamp and Jungle material, here used for the landscape of a dry riverbed. Nothing fancy here, except that this turned out to be a bit of a nightmare. 3ds-models for the Land Rover Freelander crossing the riverbed start at $80 and go up to $2'500 (the model, not the car) so I used pictures on 2D-faces. From a panorama movie made in the cockpit of a Bell XV helicopter, I made a screenshot and used this on a 2D face. Unfortunately, the artificial horizon was visible and it didn't show the banking of the craft. Due to the low resolution of the movie it was either rugged cables or holes in them. That's where the merry alien had to come in (found on 3DCafe). Landscape and alien crisp sharp and the cockpit blurred wasn't it either, I finally had to resort to a lengthy DOF render.

I can understand the challenge here since I've tried my hand at similar projects, you've not quite pulled it off, but you've done better than I have so I take my hat off to you! Good use of DOF and I like the alien - although I'd have been tempted to use fluffy dice.
