Dragonland
Description: I set out to use the ?Swamp and Jungle? material posted here by David. Three concentric terrains with different sizes were created and the nearest one uses that material. Perhaps not exactly what David had in mind, when he created the material. Anyway, the towers were made in Bryce and the Millenium Dragon 2 are from DAZ3D. Rendered as a 360? panorama. A second sun was used (see David's and my tutorial on our respective websites).

Your lighting is really nice in this one...I really love the second sun thing...The feeling of vastness is captured very well in this piece...360 panorama can be tricky sometimes, but you really did a great job with it! The dragons...I like how they're not the focal point of the piece... Great job!

From all the fairy-tales I've read and stories heard I got to the conclusion that dragons prefer "to live" near volcanic grounds where ashes and dust cover even the clouds OR they inhabit the coldest places on Earth never visited by a human being. I guess this is the reason they got wings and fly to places, as the one you've created, searchin' for their meal.

Your setup is nice. Zethara is right about the tricky part of the panoramic render. I give you that Horo, you've done a good job. May I just suggest that you make the water less transparent?

Water

Thank you all for your kind comments. I see what you mean about the water. I had a swampy pond in mind that is dry at times and flooded at others and thus wanted to see the vegetation below the surface, hence the high transparency.

To richter: Dragons might get thirsty at times and foray far from their liar. In her Earthsea trilogy, Ursula Le Guin had her dragons also fly near and over water. And Smaug in Tolkien's Hobbit also went to Esgaroth on the Long Lake to mess things up a bit.

Good use of greens, I rather like the water although maybe a light bump might have helped? Always though the edge of the water gives the game away, I've been looking at the edge wave on Far Cry... maybe there is an answer there?
