It seems a shame to go to such lengths to produce a complex model to then render under a default bryce sky without any visible effort being made to light your good work.

It often happens. We don't shy away creating an immensely elaborate object and when it comes to presenting it, we get hasty. I know! But David IS right. It is not enough to make a cool object, you also have to ?sell? it , i.e. put it in the right environment and light it up.

To produce such a complex model in byrce is difficult and time consuming, this both Horo and I have acknowledged, something somewhat beyond what most novice bryce users might be expected to produce. So given the level of proficiency demonstrated in the modeling I think it is only fair to point out that if this were matched in the lighting of the scene, something which if anything can be achieved with greater ease than modeling a motorcycle itself, the inpact of the model could be inproved considerably. And if there is any confusion over the best approach to take in doing so, both Horo and I host a number of short totorials on our websites which deal with the subject of lighting. As Horo says we've all been down this route, I know "selling it" sounds a bit commercial, but essentally you can usually tell if an image is going to be interesting from the thumbnail and not much detail would be showing in that so, there are other factors that should be taken into account to get the full inpact from your work.
