Three wishes left
Description: The "Bryce-round" as well as the whole render entirely made in Bryce. The map under the bullets was created by Shayun whom I'd like to thank for ~~ jpg-file added on a 2D face. The gun powder is a slightly smoothed (1024resolut) modified spiked terrain with a Mordorscape texture on it. It took awhile before I figure out how to make a gun powder in bryce :). The frame you see I made with Flash MX - just experimenting and trying new style. Comments are welcome.

Gun Powder

Nice job. Everything looks really cool. But when I first saw this image, I was going to ask: How many objects did it take to get the gun powder? But then I saw your description... I think that's really cool and creative the way you did the gun powder. I guess terrains are the "all-purpose" object. You can do really cool stuff with 'em. Anyways, awesome job. :)

The gun-powder is excellent. I like the overall scene the models and the map and the lighting and the layout with the title and all. My main objection is to the metal material used on the bullets. It looks somehow planished and dented, while the crispness of the models and the little bit I know about bullets would suggest they were highly machined and very well finished. A small tweak then?

I also usually resort to terrains when I'm at a loss how something could be done. Doing grainy powder with terrains certainly is one of the more cunning uses. Excellent work, all in all, except for -- as David has mentioned already -- the bullet itself. Hard to know its trajectory the way it's dented and it might get quite hot on its way, which won't be as far as it would be were it polished. Again, excellent work nevertheless.

Thank you all for the comments. I will keep in mind your suggestions and I promise that the next box of bullets and rounds I spend on wishing things :))) will be well polished and strictly high machined so the "target" will remain the Only target.

The reason I used those textures on the casings and bullets is that when applied with the brushed silver or pewter it looks but too perfect ~ so I kept trying. As you see now - I haven't got the appropriate textures. If anyone has some to offer I'll be most pleased to download it.
