Kiosk
Kiosk

Kiosk
Description: The airborn UH60 chopper and the sea-bikes on the shore are from DAZ. The kiosk was made in Wings3D. The rest is Bryce with contrast enhancement in PS.

Rich town dwellers on this planet of a multiworld solar system like to ride on the sea and get some refreshments at the kiosk. They also have to pay for the rescue helicopter that surveys as a security measure.

My main question would be: is the Kiosk a single object or many, gathered on one place?

Real good perspective and placing of models. I also like the idea putting two Earth-like planets. Don't know how exactly affects me, but it feels nice. Well, the sky seems flat a little. You said you used Photoshop to enhance the contrast. Then you'd probably know the blurring tool or anything alike PS offers. Maybe you should try it on the edges left from water "cutting" the terrain. In some places they are too obvious.

Nevertheless - you already know - die Augen, the perspective as I mentioned, way cool!

Planets are a very nice touch. Water hard line is fine with me, blur would look a bit silly and cliche. I'd use the dodge (highlight) tool on the water just by the shore to make it look lide white waves rolling up the beach. Also, if you would, upload that water material to the material exchange, if it isn't a preset. Looks rather nice. Scale of the Kiosk is way off to me; perhaps living in America has dulled my mind, but arn't kiosks open-air newspaper stands? If I'm off my rocker, what is it for, anyway?

Water

Shocked, I just notice that I missed to mention that the water material is another one by David that he prepared for Bryce 5.5 inclusion and didn't make it. I'm sorry not to have mentioned this in the first place.

The shoreline is indeed rather lame. That the sky is flat I only notice after Richter points it out. The Kiosk is a single Wings object. It's a bit queer, I agree on that, too. We would call such a Kiosk in German, not only open-air newspaper stands. There's probably a translation error on my part. I needed a foreground and something where the sea-bikers could have gone to. Admittedly, a cheap solution. I placed the chopper to account for the turbulence on the water and needed a story to make it plausible.

I find the composition a little opresssive on this one for some reason, possibly it is the way the heavy city sits so exactly along the skyline without interuption. The city is very good, I like the complexity of the interlocking buildings, that's nice, but somehow the overall effect is not as uplifting as it could be. Anyhow, I'll upload that water, no problem.
