The Earth in a Glass Ball
The Earth in a Glass Ball

The Earth in a Glass Ball
Description: A modification of Tiny Planet in a Glass, I think this one is much better.

I plan on doing the entire solar System. I have the Sun, Jupiter, and am working on the asteroid ring.

Here is Sol http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=1701

Apologies about the Continents, they arent what we have today. Maybe prehistoric Earth?

PS: Anyone got any good Venus Textures?

Nice, I liked Tiny Planet in a Glass better for the idea. I llook forward to your Solar system in a sphere. For hi-res UV maps for the planets, have a look at http://www.vendian.org/mncharity/dir3/planet_globes/ and you can find higer res still at http://maps.jpl.nasa.gov/jupiter.html but you find the links to most of them on the first URL. Those from JPL are better than those found in the library of Bryce 5.5.

Neat idea, looks very good. I was wondering though, if you did the entire solar system in a glass like this, wouldn't the planets, except perhaps the gas giants be too small to see?

True

But through new techniques and experiments involving mass reduction, we have shrunk each planet to the size of a golf ball, with the sun about the size of a tennis ball. This has no noticible effect on the inhabitants, and that is how they can fit into a grapefruit sized glass ball.
