I'm always amazed at your imagination. This is a very interesting idea to use the octopus, who'd else could have thought up such a setup? Not your responsibility: the arms look queer, but the main body - the head - looks very real, up to the eyes, which are strangely human-like for a creature so fundamentally different from us. Uncommon but very pleasing colour scheme.

Dave, I was beginning to think that you have abandoned that aspect of creation. You post mostly car- or Vicky-related renderings lately. To be honest I was a bit worried. I remember the "Mountain Lake" pic or "Bryce Encounters... of the third kind?" (with the enormous 470+ hits) and many more. Simply great! I see now that you haven't gave up the creativity of your imagination.

This octopus (because of the shape and material used) looks mechanical to me. Is the blue plasma in the back something new? I see the stars-tutorial also took place there. Nice.

Tis true, most of my posting's here have been more "technically" orientated, the subjects being mostly lighting techniques or "effects" - the "other" types of images do get made but they tend to go straight to my website or to more "generalised" galleries where in detail comments reguarding how such and such a thing was done in bryce would be wasted on those looking.

The blue plasma is just a varient of my usual plasma material which can be found both here and on my site in one form or another. There is really nothing espically new in this image other than I liked the composition and strangeness of the scene.

To be fair both "Mountain Lake" and "Bryce Encounters.... " are about techniques - just so happens that they turned out as decent pictures in the process...
