Wait for Dawn
Description: A long night draws to an end. Tower ruin, trees and figure are from DAZ. The figure is Victoria, instead of hair, I put her on a hat made from a terrain. The moonlight is enhanced by a second moon.

Don't take this the wrong way but this one makes me uncomfortable. It has a sort of nightmarish apocolyptic feel to it, especially with that red haze on the horizon, that dead weeping willow, and the shadows. I can actually imagine that I am that dude in the ruins, cold and alone in a desolate land.

Otherwise, it's very well done! Everything fits perfectly. I especially like the stars and the moonglow behind the ruins. The ruins itself looks really good. The aged brickwork and broken look would be really hard for me to duplicate.

Although it's dark and spooky it's definitely a work of top notch work of art. 5/5

The Environment... the feel I'm there - I echo spektyr about this. Superb stars! Of all the skies I've seen here (on daylight) I almost forgot how beautiful could it be during the night, waiting for the dawn :) I like the idea setting the horizon red. A small detail, BUT with strong influence. I will have to disagree with spektyr - it is the warming presence of the fire itself that gives the confortable feeling to the whole scene. Did you added the moon image or it faded out because of the second light?
The only thing that troubles me is the tree right in front. It's spooky alright but it seems a bit 2D to me. If it's a 3D object then the result is quite interesting. Above all - nice piece of art.

Thanks for your comments. In fact, ruin and trees were easy, since these are from DAZ. I did fiddle with the sky for a long while. Spektyr sees creepiness while Richter sees the hope of morning. I had exactly that bi-valent feeling while I played with colour and brightness. The pose of the figure (which could be male of female) is set ambivalent too. It is attentatively listening for some horror that may creep up at any moment or it could just be a lowered head due to fatigue. As for the tree at right: it is 3D (Spooky tree) but appears flat here. I didn't notice. Among my many hobbies and pastimes, I'm also a backyard astronomer. Do you notice the Plejades and the constellation of the bull left above the moon whos image is blurred out by the haze?

Excellent, I might quibble with the redness of the red on the horrizon, but well, it seems to work very well, so it would not be wise to do so!

I like richter's optimistic view but there a glaring flaw that prevents me from feeling that way about this image. Now unless this is an alien world with a different atmospheric compositiion than ours, which the presence of grass, trees and an obviously human figure would contradict this possibility, the coming sunrise would be a deep blue and not red. It's mostly that redish horizon that gives me the spooky feeling, although the green grass on the hills takes away from the look of desolation. I know I first said that everything fits perfectly but now, the more I look at it, I see that grass as a contradiction.

This is just my impression and is not meant to take away from my original evaluation. I'd be proud to put this up on a wall in my fetus frightening room. hehe
