Everything done in Bryce 5.5. Gamma correction done in PS. I thought this would be an easy one to do, the result shows that I completely erred. This is not the attempted one-to-one copy but just a coarse approximate.
Smoke and fire light is fantasitc, very effective, flames on the left are a bit iffy, look kinda more like plasma than fire - the colours good, but just a little too much conformity to the sphere it is mapped to. Overall you got a good match on the colour, detail on the walls, and the spikey terrain serves nicely as trees. I'll give it a 5 just for the smoke alone which is the star of the show!

Can't find a vote box. Ok, just metally add a 5 to your vote total.

Very well replicated! High marks. Remember, voting will be opened on the FORUM once the contest ends... Votes here will not count. Still looking to get some more entries.. I might have to extend the deadline a little bit... I want at least 10...

Correct, I played around mostly with that fire at left and even the 19th version is still not good. Considering the small flame just right to it, I think I know how I could have done it better. We learn, we learn. And yes, the Bryce camera has a very high quality lens.

Very well done!
an exellent fake. I don't like the flames that are obviously spheres with david's plasma on them, that gives it away. Also, the wall looks a little cold to be sitting there in the middle of a forest fire; give it some warmer lighting.
Nightst4r, I would really appreciate it if you could extend the contest to about September 10th. I am leaving for Italy on August 11, and I am gone for about 3 weeks. My contest entry is only about half finished.
