BalanceMKII
Description: In the first Balance the model was Judy, this time it's Vicki (from www.daz3d.com), inported via DAZstudio. I've further refined the materials and lighting in an attempt to get a very "clean" render style. I also gave Vicki some extra curves here and there to create a more "balanced" image - which I only felt was appropriate under the circumstances. Since most of the modification involved a certain amount of enlargment of her anatomy, mostly her arse frankly, I found that I couldn't find any clothes to fit her - seriously, I'm not making this up, they just kept vanishing below the surface of her body in an annoying way - so... I've included, instead - a carfully positioned "hoop" for the sake of modesty.

Light effect

I don't know if it's just me but... when I smoothly scroll down this window, the whole picture seams to get darker(I mean Vicki and the background). I don't know how you acheived this weird effect but it sure looks cool(not only the effect that is =))

Looking at that enhanced behind as showed on the reflecting floor, it looks as if it were extruded Wings3d-like. The hair looks like made of snippets of 1/4" audio tape. So much for the ?bad news?. The ?good news? is, that this is an absolutely beautiful composition with superb lighting and colour. Very smooth, Vicky could go as the Goldfinger girl, which would explain the stiffness. My attention is drawn to the landscape and sun that is reflected in the orb. Hard to improve on this one.

To boen_robot: I'm quite convinced that David used light rings to obtain that effect you so much wonder about. Get the appropriate tutorial on his or my website and start experimenting.

er...

In actual fact, there is no "additional" lights in this one at all... - just sunlight and sky - what I was doing was trying to figure on an "inproved" version of the "bender" material and was tinkering and came up with a highly reflective, highly speculative, metal that I applied to this figure. Because it is very reflective as is the ground, it does away with the need for extra lighting by reflecting light in from everywere - provided the sky is light enough for the job. Extra lights work well with matt materials and give a nice solid feel to things - the alternative is very reflective stuff like this but that does not have the same satisfying solid feel to it but the render time is much lower! Oh, the graded background is just a result of the light in the sky mostly and that is enhanced in this case with a bit of gamma compression in PSP7. Hope that clears up any confuson. Sorry.

It looks as if I made an fool of myself. David is full of surprises. This will teach me to answer in his stead.
