Mid-Ocean Calmness Before the Storm
Description: Here I am again, experimenting some more with Bryce5. I think this is my first image on Bryce5 with the whole, nature-theme. I hope everyone likes it and comments and suggestions are welcomed:)

Very Nice

Everything has a nice look to it and just how the title describes it. Although there isn't enough in it. Just stick like one more thing in there like a dock a boat or something sort-of abandoned looking might even give it a better feeling. Nice job.

As above

Yes, I agree, I think it needs some kind of focus. Have a look in the free models at DAZ - there's some water stuff, a boat, a sub and a jet ski I think...

Leave the water alone

On the other hand - why do we always need a focus? Chances there is anything near you in mid ocean are quite rare. I think, instead of putting something on the water, just do some near foreground: reeling of the ship you're looking out or such.

...and

Right said, Horo. No focus=different feeling, different feeling=extaordinary results. If you just think about it for a moment: you're there, in front of your pc, starting the Bryce app. Now all you see is the default sky, terrain... You can do a lot by adding trees, mountains, elements of any kind. But you can do a lot more if you concentrate on the empty space and make IT look great only by FEW clicks...and somehow after all the comments and talks here on this site - your work suddenly comes to life.

I seem to have two different ideas of what the image needs to look better.

Combine both?

You can put some kind of a focus on the horizon, instead of the middle of the ocean. Place it on the WHOLE horizon, so the focus will be the object there, but the middle will still make an impression. What to place? Hm...A big wave perhaps? Lightnigs? I don't know....something from the nature- that's for sure ;-)

I think I'm gonna settle on a nature-focus...

But I heard from davidbrinnen that I could get free models from daz3d.com. Could someone give me a link. Thank you.

I actually just found it today...but thank you for the link.
There doesn't appear to be a lot of good free items for Bryce5. By good I mean fitting the scene.
