The shadow in the ice
The shadow in the ice

The shadow in the ice
Description: We put up the light rigs and set the thermite charges, stepped well back. The shadow in the ice turned out to be some kind of metal structure... made from an alloy the likes of which we had never seen before... the bits on our diamond tipped drills couldn't even put a scratch on it... no indeed... we found a "body" too... I say a "body" but it was more like big steaming pile of intestines covered in teeth and eyes - Doc's taking it back to base for analysis - what we'll probably do is leave him and it in a room on their own, together (makeing sure no one is within ear shot of even a very loud scream), and let them get on with it - if you take my meaning... And then... I think you already know the answer to that... flamethrowers... the steady attrition of the cast in increasingly grusome ways and "the daddy" turning up at the very end to play last man standing and maybe sow the seads for a sequel.

Bryce5.5 - inspired by one of my favourite films "The thing" (the latest version with Kurt Russel) and other similar cheesy horror "B" movies. The "ship" was made in Wings3D and inported as an .obj file via the integreated DAZstudio thus getting around the irritating model complexity limitations of Bryce's native import object function. Another selling point for 5.5!

Nice story. Interesting and well done thing that dug that marvelous crater. The background mountains give this picture a very good impression of size. This is a very good piece of work. The only qualms I have is the smooth foreground. It might be wet clay or coloured snow. The other side of the crater is too far away to determine what kind of material is on the surface. The extraordinary crater walls would suggest some rockier material for the surface.

Maybe some footprints?

Excellent image, but maybe you could add something... I believe that some footprints in the foreground would be nice... And maybe halos for the tower lights...Or the lightrays...

Thanks, I like the idea of halos for the tower lights and the presence of footprints might make the snow seems more snowy - I will have to have a play. In the mean time I have a night version to post - this was due to another suggestion by a fellow artist.
