Doomsdaydevice360
Description: As previous, but experimenting with the parametric render. I very much want to like the parametric render, but it's action on any image seems to be a) difficult to predict and b) make the image very similar to every other parametric render before it. Here the sense of up and down is lost and the whole scene becomes a complex tangle of twisted machinery, reminds me a bit of M.C.Eshcer's style possibly. I tried serveral attempts to achieve some kind of composition but, for reasons a) and b) it hardly seemed worth the effort. Render time for this and the previous device was mercyfully swift, only a few hours, the models were kept pretty basic being mostly angular with no curved surfaces and only the most nimble materials were chosen and I didn't push up the ray depth but instead chose to duplicate the models over and over before putting everything in a very big mirrored box. So that's the theory. See what you think.

Left goes up, right goes down, far right up again, that's how I perceive it. It is an interesting view in itself.
Provided the camera is not slanted, rendering this as a QTVR would be very interesting. Quick Time is free, just don't forget to tick the QTVR option. That's for the viewer. However, you could probably not publish it here.

Very cool

Yeah I spent almost 6 hours trying to figure out how to make My QTVR image, incorperated so i can twist the image and view it in many directions. I would be so pleased if some one could explain to me how this works. Indeed I have downloaded the free very small file of QT. but as to make it use VR. Thats a differnt story. anyways lovly image really changes up the dimesions of the picture just beacuse the sense of up and down is lost. doesnt mean it doesnt look good i liek left and right alot more. gives it an amazing sense of complexity. top marks. anyways if anyone knows how to do that you will definatly spark me up for bryce again.

360.

The Doomsday Device comes "full circle" :) Nice idea rendering the image with "panorama view", Dave! What if you try to lower the resolution and animate IT rotating the camera in several directions just to see what's gonna happen. Don't you think it'll be awesome? :)) I'm anxious to "hear"...uhm.."see" your decision!
