GT500 underground
Description: Bryce5.5 No postwork. Back to playing with my GT500 model from DAZ, here I've been trying, with varying degrees of sucess to capture the effect of outdoor and interior lighting at the point at which they meet. Not as straight forwards as it might at first appear and once again hundreds of lights had to be employed to create the soft ambient light seen towards the back of the tunnel.

The vaulted hall is beautiful, particularly the way light fades in the distance. The lamps are very good with the bulps in them. The floor looks wet to the point of half an inch of water. The columns also suggest a wet place, but the vault itself is dry. And this is, what disturbs me. How the columns cut into the vaulted ceiling is extraordinary. Excellent work - again.

Bump

The bump on the walls is what catches my attention. It seems far too deep for even the -100 setting for bump to handle. How'd you do it? My only problem is the floor. It looks quite a bit like water, which would explain the wetness, but also calls to mind corregated metal. I have yet to see bumped metal as the floor of a tunnel or a vault, Water would work, but having a car drive on it? Anyway, the lighting itself deserves a 5, and with the vault, it's almost perfect. 5/5.

Bump

Thanks for your kind remarks and I know what you are saying about the water. I'll probably have another go at that. As far as the Bump level goes, you do know that you can set it to anything up to 900 or there abouts (+ or -) by simply typing in the figure rather than pulling the slider don't you?

Sorry, Pure Stupidity

By me, not you. I knew you could do that to other settings, but it never occured to me to set it for bump. So no, I didn't know. I never made that connection.

B@d @$$

..... Me Lord, A fine peice of work. The colmes are wonders, trully #$%* and more. Two thing distrube this image

1. If you sent this much time (witch Im sure you did) you spend a little more time on the door. My thought imporve or take it out. Your image is good without it.

2. Instead of G.T. 500 try your name, (if you can) she is your baby after on, show pride

Door

I don't agree with FoxBoy here. For me, the door is right. An opening leading into a dark anteroom. I don't know whether it could (or should) be improved, but do not take it out. It gives a clue to the size of the room, the GT does not suffice, it is too near for that. Thanks go to LitoNico for the question. I'm a bit wiser now, too.
