F50
Description: Model came from DAZ3D.com - I redid the materials for the paint, chrome, glass and indicators because I didn't like the look of the ones it came with and placed it under 287 lights. Took about eight hours to render. No post work, not even gamma correction.

Lights and models

Well, the lights don't take long to set up - I use the multireplicate function with shifted origins to create arcs of lights - it's all there in your manual somewhere - and I believe there is even a tutorial to make a shell shape that uses the same technnique. It's a hodge podge of lighting, just strips and arcs and different colours. Frankly the F50 is a weak model compaired with the Mustang which is cheeper and which has an engine and proper morph targets for turning the wheels and better materials - for this one, like I said, I had to come up with my own materials because of certain issues. And well, frankly, the Mustang is better looking. This render just happened to be finished first.

Not much to add to the above. Nicely done, impressive light. Yes, and lit up headlights would have been a nice add-on.

Numbers and links

Page 207 for shifting the origin. Multireplicate is in the Edit drop down or use Shift+Alt+D to bring up the dialogue box. But you'll have to find the car for yourself, I've just sat here for the past five minutes wating for DAZ's site to come up but as is often the case, my connection is too slow to capture it - look in shop under vehicals. I've spent the last 4 days trying to download a model from them, I have six corrupt versions so far, my download speed is between 1kb/s up to a staggering 4kb/s - if I'm lucky. Is it any wonder that I hate British Telecom so much?

Yeah sure. I'm don't like driving cars. I'd rather have Ducati 916.

That's not what I meant, the car, my car is not this model, what I was actually agreeing to here was allowing Lakota to borrow my car, which is a Vaxhaul Astra Estate 1.8ltr Desil (moderately rusty and dinged and a bit chemical smelling inside). I would consider sharing the models I've made, but not the ones I've got off other people - unless they were free to begin with, because they are not really mine to share in the first place.
