Lovely material on the collums reminds me of the kind of surface that appeared on the groins before they ripped them all out and replaced them with rockarmour and sand (which has now washed away and we are set to be flooded and all die horribly beneath the cold grey waves of the North Sea - but I digress). The seams in the collums give me the impression of a mirrored floor, and that combined with the semi-symetrical nauture of the object adds to that illusion - maybe what you need is some motion blurr for the background or the object and no seams?

Very nice, the material used is very good, indeed. As I see this picture, floor and ceiling are below and above the edges. I think, changing the format from landscape to portrait would improve the impression of an infinite vertical shaft. The light, by the way, is exquisite.
