Description: Still striving to capture the atmosphere of my home county. I rendered this up on the beta version of Bryce5.5, imported the barn (aquired from the free models on DAZ's site) via DAZstudio - which is now integrated into Bryce (this making the whole process of using their modles a lot less painful and fiddly. The render time was litterally half what I would have expected thanks to the now built in hyperthreading support (good news for P4 users like myself). Telegraphs as before, free models from DAZ. Smoke a moded version of one of the presets. Cloud volumetic. A couple of additional lightsources here and there (see Horo's and my own Tutorial for further guidence on that score). Individual blades of grass from the objects section of Bryce5.5 manufactured by no less a figure than Foleypro - take a look in the gallery for his works - very impressive. Oh and the pillbox was modeled in wings3d. Phew.

Very realistic pic. I like that non-dramatic, almost boring sky which adds greatly to the realism. The yellow field looks as if it were rape, very nice! Yeah and the creek, again very natural. Great fire. People burning tyres on such a landscape should be beaten up. Indeed, it's the smoke I have qualms about. Too black and the upper part is still a bit compact. However, using smoke in a landscape pic can give clues about the wind and thus makes the pic more dynamic. Ah, and the grass, something to look forward to.

Thank you. Yes, I think I have issues about the smoke too now that it is done, but it's such a slow thing to render. Oh well, maybe for the MKIII... To answer Jesuis, Bryce5.5 will be available from DAZ this quater all being well. Fingers crossed! I've been assisting them with the beta test - not that I know anything about programming bryce - my assistance is more by way of pointing out one or two bugs. Now it's getting close to finished - hurray! - I asked if I could start posting stuff rendered up in 5.5 and they said I could, so here it is.
