Earth Station
Earth Station

Earth Station
Description: Some standard-A c-band satellite antennas comprising an earth station near the equator as is evident from the high elevation angle of some dishes. This station is located on a hill slope of an east-west oriented valley and has access to almost the full ecliptic. The reception of the dish at left will soon be interrupted for a few minutes when the shadow of the subreflector covers the feed horn. Then, for that antenna, the sun is exactly behind the satellite. The rf power of the sun will drawn the signal coming from the satellite (sun interference).

Odd but good. Nearly there in every respect but there are optical effects working against you. The shadows on the material for the uprights is a little too dark in comparison to the shadows which fall in the ground material. The ladder which I believe should be suspended in space is in danger of looking like it might be going into the ground dispite it's lack of shadow (don't know what you can do about that... hmn). The dish construcions are very good and I like the use of the soft shadows falling into the dishes but somehow I'm not certain that they would be all that soft in such a sunny day... Mostly little points. The composition is very interesting - very bold, that I wouldn't mess with, although I wouldn't probably have dared to go quite so close to the edges of the pic with some of those strong geometric shapes you've got away with it no problem. Some patches of grass around the base of the towers wouldn't go amiss...

Quite odd. my only problem with this is that on the right of the image the panel is facing away, but on the left, it is facing tword the viewer. this would only be possible if the sun was on the ground, in the middle of the pic.
