Description: Inspired by old legend I've let my imagination free... so it's not a reconstruction attempt. I've made some experiments with different lighting/camera setup. Here's a result for "hazy day + bird's eye" (or griffon's eye :) Modelled & rendered with Bryce, 2D graphics for lattices & textures made with GIMP, no postproduction (mean the signature) applied. rendering time: 12hrs 18min (water)

Fantastic detail here, I might have said that some of the materials seem a bit too high-frequency if they all didn't fit together so well. Excellent work, got to be worth a five.

Ah - question answered. Very detailed, indeed. This is a very nice piece of work. I'm not sure about David's comment about hi freq. mat. If you zoom in on a detail, that might take the difference. Got to give it a five for the richness of detail.

Zoom, resolution and textures

This scene was designed for big resolution(2048x1536), and close-ups (to approx 5m).

Forgot to ask...

What's a "MysiaWieza"? And I do like the hi-freq mats - it all works. Did you remeber to turn on the TIR when you rendered the water - sometimes that can cut down the render time - sometimes... I usually cheat and make the water fully reflective but that wouldn't have worked for you here. Be consoled 12hrs is not a long render. 500hrs is - particulary when the mains goes off before it is done!

500hrs

That was the splash image - a combination of metaspheres with transparent materials and DOF effect - processor melting. I ended up patching the image up in PSP7 with some imaginative masking rather than begining the three week rendering process over again. You'd have thought I'd be more dedicated.
