Light in the Mountains

Light in the Mountains
Description: Playing with additional light to supliment the sunlight to get a more realistic effect - or at least try to. Possibly this technique will be added to the tutorials on mine and Horo's sites - depending on the level of interest - it is a bit fiddly though... Seems to work particulary well with the volume cloud material, on the down side, it takes a long time to render the volume stuff. Four variations for your consideration.

Beatiful examples. We'll have to dig into the topic of additional light, that's for sure. Like it or not (I don't), finishing the income tax has to be given precedence.

WOW

especially for the lower right one. I'm more than interested though if its fiddly I have my doubts I'll have the patience for long render times. Still...

Calm yourself...

Poser5 I do possess but I have yet to learn how to use it in anything but the most rudimentory fashion - and besides it runs very slowly on my machine. The resources that you need to create these scenes, in bryce, will (hopefully) be freely available in bryce5.5 since I have passed them onto DAZ for inclusion with the new release. If not they will also be availble on my website once the necessary software has been written to allow the automated transfer of certain types of files. Asside from that Horo, may, should he so desire - and have the time - turn my garbled screen grabs and hasty explinations into a tutorial so that (not only will the sky and the ground materials), you will also be able to replicate the lighting. Once you can do it yourself, you will be satisfied that there is no mysterious "other software" at work and you will be content? KillingArmyMan - be patient. Jesuis - calm yourself.

Ill will apologiez Im am truly sorry for dislinkign your Discrimanation against other persons art. :) Army man, You must be stupid and not know what bryce can truly do. As for me Ill,...Go make a picture Resembling my mars one.
I do have one question though, as i was Thumbing through Old and Dusted Pictures I came across a picture of Yours david that had 2 Sumo like Robots When you aplied your Plasma Did you just stick Spheres to the back Or...I dunno but when i create a sphere and apply the Plasma It look differnt your looked as though they were actually steaming how was the effect done?
Thanks

Hmm

My personal favourite would be the top left, IMO it's the best one.

On reflection I like the top right hand one but to begin with it was the top left - it is difficult for me because by the time I get to the final render, I've seen enough of these images and they no longer have any impact or hold any interest for me. To answer Jesuis's question, the robots (from poser - yes Killingarmyman - from poser) were simply placed inside a sphere of my plasma material - although I may have modified it slightly to match the scale of the robots or something like that, essentially it is just the same as the paler plasma that can be downloaded from my site. If it appeared that it was steaming off the robots that is down to having a dark sky and a very light horizon - the plasma gets added to whatever is behind it so that it seems more active where it is over a lighter layer.

No fav

Sorry, I don't have a favourite. They look all beautiful if looked at them separately and filter out the existense of the other three. However, this sequence shows how much can be done purely in Bryce by careful lighting -- paired with ingenuity.
