River Valley
Description:	I used this image as my wallpaper for a long time. This was an attempt to make a river out of metaballs. Does my river look fairly good? Any tips on making rivers? Also if you notice on my other picture called "Bryce Box" this picture is on the cover. I thought it would fit the box very well.

I love this for one reason and one reason only

Wow I love this image because of one thing. It looks like a 1920's hollywood set the mountains in the background look like a a enormous card borad with a 2x4 hold it up at the back it looks as though its one of those pictures on a paper than willey cyote ( dont know how to spell it ) pulls donw and the bird runs through it. I will say this its an awsome sky ill give it a four for its feel of a prop the only reason I'll dock off a point is beacuse I know you werent going for this look and you wanted it to look real. if you wanted it to look liek a landscape sorry its not very convincing though. I love it as a prop

Riverbed

The riverbed with the sandbanks look really good.I don't know how you do rivers in metaball, sounds extremly tedious to me. As for the mountains I go with Jesuis. Maybe if you used another material on them they might look better. Sky looks good, too.

The sky looks great, the mountains I'll agree with Jesuis and Horo - need work, maybe you should consult the terrain tutorials Horo has been kind enough to construct from may rather hastily put together ideas... www.horo.ch/raytracing/sys/index_en.html
Hope that works.

Rivers from metaspheres, interesting idea, I like to see things being tried out, but that too could do with further investigation.

Very nice but the river just doesnt look real to me only my opinion but very good
