Lost Before the Dawn
Description:	Mostly focused on lighting, camera view and the sky in this one. I've never really gone for realistic scenes, but i've always seemed to have a habit of making some things look real, but then you can tell it's totally unreal with the over-the-top water/lighting etc. I guess this sort of justifies that. More streaming rays i've added. I'm getting closer and closer to mastering the technique, but i'm still trying to figure out the volumetric lighting, it's extremely tricky to get the placement right with that type of lighting. The lighting used in most of my pictures(aside from the Light Awaken image) are fake lights, it's just a texture used on a cone. Enough babbling from me, enjoy the pic.

Looks great - keep babbling, it is always interesting to here how things are put together. Have you considered shifting the horizon up or down to a less standard location?

The camera is quite close to the water surface. I like that angle of view also, but makes it tricky to get a good water surface because transparency doesn't come into play. Did you add that ?high sensitivity chemical film emulsion? effect with PS? Yes, it is peaceful. I think this is because there is so much calm water and sky.

Basically here's what was done in Ps7, not in any particular order:
The Noise was added, I find that the small amount of noise makes the picture look better.
Diffuse Glow effects were used.
Colour correction
Lens Flare
Now i'm not exactly sure what High sensitivity chemical film emulsion is, but i'm thinking it's a PS addition.

The camera is extremely close to the water, it's so close that it's basically on it. I love that view, and the water looks great from there too.

I tried to shift the horizon on this image, I do think about raising it up or down, but it didn't look good to me when I tried, so I basically left it as it was.

Film emulsion

Thanks for all those clarifications, Frozencry. In traditional photography, you have to put a film into it. Drops of a chemical emulsion make up the light sensitivity (like the cones and rods in the eye). The more sensitive or faster the film is (higher ASA/DIN), the larger the droplets. If there is not enough light, the drops detect light even though there is none and this makes the granular look. It is quite different from the noise a digital camera produces in similar circumstances. Film granularity is circular, digital is squared. So PS can emulate that effect, much as it can the lens flare.
