Meditation
Description: The lady from DAZ doesn't meditate, in fact she prays that I won't remove her after her 50 MB weight crashed the computer, after hours of rendering, of course. As you can see, I heard her prayer.

Lighting, colour and concept are fine. The terrain I feel is a little too spikey (again?) and I think you could do with bringing the figure a little bit closer to the camera for dramatic effect. Good - but no cigar. I'm surprised the figure was so hefty, I usually find it's high resolution terrains that causes issues.

I disagree with David, I think that the terrain is just spiky enough. it is, after all, a fantasy terrain. However, I would increase the resolution on the terrain and remove the figure. or if the figure is the whole point, then move it closer to the camera.

I prepared the terrain for rolling hills but fell in love with this fairyscape, mainly for the reflections of the clouds on the water, before I scaled it down. So I stuck with it. The res was set to 512 only, if I move it up to 4096 now, there is almost no change and I forgot where I started from so I have to live with the pyramids. Then I wanted that light effect Frozencry is so good at, failed utterly but was pleased that volume light worked at last as expected. So I had a light spot, a focus, but nothing there. That's why the fairy came in. Your critics are apt. There was no vision or concept to begin with and I finally ended up just tinkering.

What troubles me most is that pixel-effect at the end of the volume light shaft just before it reaches the fairy. In larger renders, it is disturbingly obvious.

I find the terrain perfectly suiting the image. It is a fairyscape after all, and it looks as if she's stuck in a dark area of the world, what with all the spikey terrain and all. Water is lovely, i'm not very fond of the sky, and the lighting is great. If you want that light effect, just make a cone, add the lit rays texture and put it there, should work well. Volumetric is used more for rays that can stream through something(and for a much more realistic effect), but the placement of volumetric rays is tricky and the rendering times can drive you insane. It's a very nice image overall, and IMO the streaming rays aren't needed here.
